French directror Jérémie Rozan’s film for Surface to Air is composed of soft images portraying a lazy summer mood. The cut-off framings and the absence of the protagonists’ faces show a kind of rarely seen imagery, while the poppy colors and the whole atmosphere fit perfectly into the currently very popular late-sixties/seventies-look. Beautifully tanned skin, a hammock and Cass McCombs’ wonderful voice round everything up nicely. A truly cute fashion film.
