Our second installment of “Ghostly International Week”: our first ever theme week. Ghostly is one of the most famous American labels for electronic music, known for releases by artists like Dabrye, Legowelt, DMX Crew; or to cite more recent ones, Golden Panda, Matthew Dear or Phantogram. On monday we featured Nathan Corbins video for HTRK’s track Bendin.
Today we’d like to show another great Ghostly Piece, this time by Charles Bergquist for Matthew Dear’s track Slowdance.
Again it is difficult to decipher what really catches you when watching the video. Objectively speaking, it is just a girl sprawling in a bed in combination with some visual effects and urban landscapes. But non objectively it really gets to you. As Bergquist puts it “She, the environment shared, and the unknown becomes blended, fractured and infinitely heaped together.” The complete absence of color with the aqueous imagery simply leaves you speechless.
Stay tuned for more marvelous Ghostly work on friday. We sure will.
